Congratulations to Suzanne Visser, who was presented with a 2008 Federation of Alberta Naturalists (FAN) Volunteer Award for her efforts as a compiler of FAN’s Spring species counts.

Suzanne leads Nature Calgary's Botany Group and has been assisting with the May Flower Counts for many years. In 2008, she took on responsibility for all of Alberta.

Bird Study meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of the month (except June, July & August) at 7:30pm, in the BioSciences Rm. 211 at U of C, and are open to the public.

Nature Calgary, also known as the Calgary Field Naturalists' Society (CFNS), is a thriving, not-for-profit, non-political, natural history club with over 500 members in Calgary and the surrounding area. Members have a wide variety of interests including birding, botany, conservation, natural history and the environment.

We hold monthly meetings from September to June which are open to the public. In addition many field trips are scheduled throughout the year on a wide range of topics. Everyone is welcome.
